# Insurance Edition Overview

> Everything Spark adds for life insurance agencies — commission tracking, policy management, AI underwriting, and team dashboards

Spark's Insurance Edition turns your workspace into a complete sales system built specifically for life insurance agents and agencies. On top of the core platform — AI agents, CRM, calling, and texting — it adds the tools an insurance producer actually runs their day on: commission grids, a sales log that calculates your comp automatically, policy records, a live underwriting assistant on every call, and agency-level rollups for managers.

## Built for the Life Insurance Workflow

The Insurance Edition follows the same path your sales day does:

1. **Leads come in** — tagged by lead type (Final Expense, Veteran, IUL, Mortgage Protection, and more) and automatically enrolled in matching [text and email follow-up campaigns](/insurance/lead-types)
2. **You dial** — with the [power dialer](/phone/dialer), live AI coaching, and the [underwriting assistant](/insurance/underwriting-assistant) surfacing carrier fits while the client talks
3. **You close** — record the [appointment outcome](/insurance/appointment-outcomes), and Spark creates the policy record, calculates your commission, updates the pipeline, and sends the client their confirmation
4. **You track** — the [dashboard](/insurance/dashboard) shows sales, premium, commission, and ROI; your [daily tracker](/insurance/activity-tracking) keeps the numbers honest
5. **Your agency sees it** — producers roll up to [agency dashboards](/insurance/agency) and the [leaderboard](/insurance/leaderboard)

## How Contacts Change

With the Insurance Edition installed, contact profiles are organized for insurance work. Custom fields are grouped into labeled sections instead of one long list:

* **Contact Info** — name, phone, email, address
* **Policy Info** — carrier, policy number, face amount, premium, draft date
* **Underwriting** — age, tobacco status, health conditions, desired coverage
* **Lead Source & Status** — lead type, lead score, source, stage

Your pipeline also gets insurance-specific baseline stages — **New Lead → Appointment Scheduled → Presentation Done → Application Submitted → Application Approved → Closed Won** — which the appointment outcome workflow moves contacts through automatically.

<Tip>
  Everything in the Insurance Edition works alongside the core platform docs. Your [agent](/agent/overview) can read and write all of this data too — log sales, look up comp rates, check policy details, and report your numbers on demand.
