# Phone Overview

> A browser-based calling workstation — power dialing, live transcription, AI coaching, and automatic recording, all in one tab

The Phone tab is your calling workstation. There's no desk phone, no softphone download, no extra software — calls run right in your browser over carrier-grade calling. Pick a contact, click Call, and everything else (transcription, coaching, recording, dispositions) happens around you while you talk.

## What the Phone Tab Does

| Feature | What it does | Where |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Click-to-call dialing | Single-line calls to any contact or pasted number | [Power Dialer](/phone/dialer) |
| Multi-line dialing | Dials 2, 3, or 5 contacts at once and connects you to the first human who answers | [Multi-Line Dialing](/phone/multi-line-dialing) |
| Live transcription | Real-time transcript of the call with you and the contact labeled separately | In-call view |
| AI coaching | Real-time cards that track the conversation phase and suggest responses to objections | In-call view |
| Call recording | Every call records automatically, with playback | Contact timeline, call history |
| Post-call summaries | AI writes a 2–3 sentence summary and suggested next steps after each call | Contact timeline |
| Call dispositions | One-click outcomes (Connected, Voicemail, Callback, …) that update your CRM | Post-call modal |
| Inbound handling | Incoming-call cards with CRM context, plus optional forwarding to your cell | [Inbound Calls](/phone/inbound-calls) |
| Text notifications | Alerts for missed calls and new leads sent to your notification number | [Inbound Calls](/phone/inbound-calls) |
| Number management | Add, name, and rotate phone numbers; choose your caller ID per call | [Phone Numbers](/phone/phone-numbers) |

On insurance workspaces, the dialer panel also shows the [Underwriting Assistant](/insurance/underwriting-assistant) and policy context alongside the live call — carrier fits and client policy info surface while the client talks.

## During and After Every Call

Every call — single-line, multi-line, or inbound taken in the browser — gets the same treatment.

The full sequence:

1. **Live transcript** streams in real time with speaker labels, so you can glance back at anything the contact said.
2. **Coaching cards** track where you are in the conversation and suggest specific responses when objections come up.
3. **Recording** happens automatically; play it back later from the contact timeline or call history.
4. **Disposition** — when the call ends, you log the outcome in one click. Dispositions can trigger automations like stage moves, tasks, and follow-up texts.
5. **AI summary** — a short summary and suggested next steps land on the contact timeline so the record stays current without you typing.

<Tip>
Calls, dispositions, and outcomes all feed your activity metrics automatically — on insurance workspaces that includes your daily tracker and dashboards, with [appointment outcomes](/insurance/appointment-outcomes) closing the loop on sales.

## Where to Go Next

* Making your first calls? Start with the [Power Dialer](/phone/dialer).
* Working a big lead list? Switch to [Multi-Line Dialing](/phone/multi-line-dialing).
* Leads calling you back? Set up [forwarding and notifications](/phone/inbound-calls).
* Worried about "Spam Likely"? See reputation protection in [Phone Numbers](/phone/phone-numbers).
* Want texting from your numbers too? Texting requires A2P registration first — see [Texting Compliance](/messaging/compliance).
