The Sales Log view is the record of every policy you’ve sold. Each entry stores the sale details, and Spark calculates your commission automatically from your comp grids — no spreadsheet math. Most sales land here automatically: when you record a sale through the appointment outcome workflow, Spark creates the sales log entry for you. Manual entry is for sales closed outside that flow — a policy written on a referral call, a sale from before you started using Spark, or anything you didn’t log at the time.

What Happens on Save

1

Spark finds your comp rate

It looks up the comp grid row matching the carrier + product + client age band at your default comp level.
2

Commission is calculated

The comp % is applied to the annual premium, producing three dollar amounts: full commission, advance, and as-earned, using that carrier’s advance split. See Commission Tracking for the math.
3

The sale rolls up everywhere

The entry feeds your Dashboard, your Weekly Summary, agency rollups, and the leaderboard — all immediately.

The Age-Check Flag

Every sale shows how its comp rate was matched against the grid:
If you see interpolated or out-of-range flags repeatedly for a product you write often, add the missing age band in Comp Setup so future sales match exactly.

Editing and Deleting Sales

Sales aren’t locked after saving:
  • Edit any sale — if you change the premium, product, or client age, Spark recalculates the commission automatically
  • Delete a sale — it’s removed from all rollups (dashboard, weekly summary, agency, leaderboard)
This makes chargebacks and corrections simple: fix the entry and every downstream number updates.

Logging Sales with Your Agent

Your AI agent can log sales for you conversationally — tell it “log a sale: Maria Lopez, Mutual of Omaha final expense, age 67, $85 a month” and it creates the entry with the commission calculated. It can also report back: “what did I write this week?” pulls straight from the sales log.

FAQs

Usually one of three things: the carrier/product combination isn’t in your comp grid, the client age is outside every age band (check the age-check flag), or your default comp level doesn’t match your contract. Fix the grid or the sale and the commission recalculates.
Type it in as a custom carrier. To get automatic commission math for it, add the carrier and its products to your comp grids.
Annual. If the client pays 100/month,enter100/month, enter 1,200 — commission is calculated on annualized premium.
Yes. Weekly summaries and dashboard figures recompute when a sale changes, so your history always reflects the current state of the log.
