US carriers require businesses to register before sending application-to-person (A2P) SMS. Unregistered traffic gets filtered — your texts simply don’t arrive, with no error to tell you why. Spark’s Trust Center handles the registration end to end, and the platform enforces TCPA protections on every message you send. This is the one setup step with a real waiting period, so start it on day one.

Registering in the Trust Center

1

Register your brand

Go to Settings → Trust Center and submit your business details: legal business name, business type, EIN, address, website, and an authorized representative.Verification typically takes 1–3 business days.
2

Campaign registration (automatic)

Once your brand approves, Spark automatically registers your texting campaign — describing your use case (lead engagement) and sample messages to the carriers.Approval typically takes 1–5 business days.
3

Numbers attach (automatic)

When the campaign approves, your existing phone numbers attach to it automatically — and any numbers you add later join too. From that point, your numbers can text without carrier filtering. See Phone Numbers.
Steps 2 and 3 require nothing from you. Submit your brand once, then watch the status in the Trust Center.

Built-In TCPA Protections

The TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) governs business texting in the US, and penalties run 500500–1,500 per message. Spark builds the protections in so compliance is the default:
Only text leads who have consented to hear from you. Built-in protections cover the mechanics — opt-outs, quiet hours, consent records — but they can’t manufacture consent that was never given. TCPA penalties run 500500–1,500 per message, and a campaign to a list that never opted in multiplies fast.

Why Registration Matters

A2P registration (run through Twilio’s industry-standard process) is how carriers distinguish legitimate business texting from spam. Registered traffic is trusted and delivered; unregistered traffic is filtered silently. If your drips seem to vanish, an unapproved registration is the first thing to check. Everything downstream depends on it:
  • SMS Drip Campaigns won’t reach leads until registration approves
  • Replies you send from the Inbox ride on the same registered numbers
  • Email drips are unaffected — this is texting-specific

FAQ

Brand verification takes about 1–3 business days, then campaign approval another 1–5. Plan on up to a week end to end — and submit your brand on day one so the wait overlaps with the rest of your setup.
The Trust Center shows the rejection reason. Common causes are mismatched business details — make sure the legal name, EIN, and address match your official registration exactly. Review the reason shown and contact support if you need help resubmitting.
