Campaign Types
Campaigns are defined by their trigger:How a Campaign Is Built
Each campaign is a sequence of timed steps. Every step has:- Message text — what gets sent, with personalization tokens
- Delay — how long after the previous step it sends (the first message can send immediately)
Example Sequence
A typical inbound-lead campaign:
Speed-to-lead matters most at the top — front-load your sequence, then space out the rest.
Personalization Tokens
Tokens fill in at send time so every message reads personally:Targeting and Enrollment
Inbound campaigns can target by lead type and add filters: state, source, lead score, stage, and custom fields. When a new lead arrives, Spark enrolls it in the most specific matching enabled campaign — so a Veteran-lead campaign wins over a generic catch-all for veteran leads, and the catch-all picks up everything else. For how lead types route to campaigns in insurance workspaces, see Lead Types & Drip Routing.Rules That Keep You Safe
These behaviors are built in — you don’t configure them:- One active drip per contact — a contact is only ever in one drip at a time. A stage change exits the old drip and enrolls the contact in that stage’s drip.
- Replies pause the drip instantly — an inbound reply stops automated sends and hands the conversation to you or your AI agent in the Inbox.
- Opt-out language on the first message — every campaign’s first message carries opt-out language automatically.
- STOP is permanent — a STOP reply opts the contact out of texting for good, and Spark blocks future sends to them.
- Quiet hours — sends scheduled outside 8am–9pm in the contact’s local time are held until morning.
Building a Campaign
1
Create the campaign and pick a trigger
Choose inbound lead, stage changed, or manual. For inbound campaigns, select the lead type to target.
2
Add filters (optional)
Narrow who enrolls by state, source, lead score, stage, or custom fields. More filters = more specific = wins enrollment over broader campaigns.
3
Write your steps
Add each message with its delay from the previous step. Use tokens for the contact’s first name, state, your name, and your number. Front-load the sequence — the first message can send instantly.
4
Enable it
Toggle the campaign on. New matching leads (or stage changes, or manual fires) start enrolling immediately.
